I read ALL the other reviews and came to my own conclusion... I just wanted Pioneer :) I've been using it a lot lately. Terminator Salvation; The Dark Knight; T2; Superman, The Last Starfighter... all AMA-ZA-ZING in blu-ray!
The player itself is a no-brainer. Getting everything set-up is easy. The tray does NOT rattle when it opens... it opens just fine :) The buttons are NOT flimsy... they are buttons :) and the lighting is JUST fine... I can read everything easily. The conroller could use a zoom button... but that's it, otherwise it's easy to use and works automatically on your TV. Some blu-ray's start right up, but like most players... it takes a moment ;) my T2 blu-ray starts up as fast as my regular DVD's... ssshhhhhhhhhhh... it's a secret ;) So aall-in-all... this Pioneer blu-ray player is awesome!

I bought this as the BDP-121, a player identical to the 120, sold in Canada and in the US by warehouse stores, for $150 from CompUSA.com. The 121 does not come with a 1 GB flash drive. Until the 11/24/09 Pioneer firmware update the 120/121 refused to play Disney's Snow White BD, but now it does. However I am still having problems accessing Disney's BD Live on the player although I have accessed Warner, Paramount and Sony BD-Live. (Each requires separate registration, by the way.) This could be a Disney problem. To me there is little to complain about with the 120/121. The remote is 50% longer than most, but everything functions as it should. The BDP-120 sold here includes a 1GB flash memory stick which is required for BD-Live. If you need to update firmware, look here: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/HomeEntertainment/Blu-rayDisc+DVD/PioneerBlu-rayDiscPlayers/ci.BDP-120.Kuro?tab=F

I Think this is a really neat looking player, It dose what I want really well and that is,producing a great HD picture, with a few bells and whistles to boot at a good price.

This B-R player has been a good purchase. Do make sure to change the setting to 1080 if you have an HD TV. Out of the box it is set to 480i for standard TV resolution. Very easy to go into the menus and change it right away. Makes standard DVDs look better too. Sonically, I don't know how good it sounds because my high-end tower speakers are put away at the moment because of a toddler in the house. I'm just using some small bookshelf speakers for the time being. I could evaluate it better if I was using the towers. The menus are easy to navigate and Blu-rays look great. I would buy this player again without hesitation.

I purchased this to go along with my Pioneer receiver and am disappointed as I have to use both remotes for the Stereo and the Blu ray player.
The display is very cheesey and hard to read and the buttons on the Blu ray player are hidden and Hard to locate.
I wish now that I would have pruchased another brand. It does have a great picture and sound quality.
