Just received this player yesterday, but am already impressed--very easy set up using HDMI cables (not included), and simple navigation. I use the Roku wireless box for my netflix and other streaming content, so this unit is a great value for a simple blu-ray player.

This product can't be beat for the price and the quality it will deliver. It actually has 7.1 surround sound capability and performs almost as well as my $500 sony blu ray player. I don't think you will be let down and at the same cost as an up-convert dvd player you get all the bells and whistles.

This is a great entry level Blu-Ray Player. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of more advanced machines, but then again it doesn't come with their high price tag either. It is simple to connect and easy to use. I watched several Blu-Ray discs in the first week of use and they all looked fantastic. I also watched a few regular DVDs as well and they also looked great. Only issue I found is the sound level. I generally keep my HDTV at about sound level 40-50 (out of 100). When using this Blu-Ray player I need to move the sound level to about 70 to keep the same volume level. To be fair, that is not a problem confined to this particular Blu-Ray Player but is something that i have experienced with other DVD players as well.
Pros: Inexpensive, high quality, easy to use
Cons: Need to raise sound level when watching discs

Purchased on November 25th for $99 from Amazon.com. I was pleased with the reviews at the time and thrilled that it would be an easy set-up. Unfortunately, it started to have an annoying high pitched sound on fast forward, rewind, and stop during DVD and Blu Ray playback. Contacted LG support through online chat and am sending the unit to them for repair. They do not provide any packaging materials but are sending shipping labels.
If it wasn't for the high pitched sound I would be very happy with the device. It was extremely easy to set up and has great picture quality. I have not been able to find this problem documented anywhere else so perhaps it is just a fluke.

Took it out of the box, plugged it in and was ready for use. Excellent quality all the way around. Great $ value.
